The Resurrection Project celebrates 20 years of holistic development

On Thursday October, 21st 2010, over 700 community leaders, elected politicians, volunteers, supporters and friends of The Resurrection Project gathered at the University of Illinois Chicago Forum to celebrate 20 years of building healthy communities.
The evening emceed by the Chicago Fire’s Chief Executive Director Julian Posada and assisted by TRP CEO Raul Raymundo and board chair Fr. Chuck Dahm, was a rousing success.  Guests were entertained with the music of Voces Romanticas de Chicago and the Orozco Academy student mariachi group during the cocktail reception and dinner, after which TRP honored institutions and individuals whose investment in the communities, has made a difference.
These Community Cornerstone awards were given to the 5 top sponsors of the event: Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Northern Trust, McShane Construction and US Bank, and to 5 local residents who have helped to transform their neighborhoods into safe, healthy, and thriving communities.
Notable guests on that evening included Senator Dick Durbin, 26th Ward Alderman Billy Ocasio, City Clerk Miguel Del Valle, 25th Ward Alderman Daniel Solis and State representative Tony Munoz.
TRP’s staff and Board of Directors extend its gratitude to all who supported and invested in this celebration.  We look forward to the challenges and accomplishments of the next 20 years!
