Casa Maravilla: TRP’s Newest Affordable Senior Housing to Open in May 2010
Published: January 19, 2010
On May 2010 The Resurrection Project will open Casa Maravilla, an environmentally friendly senior housing building located north of Alivio Medical Center in Pilsen. Casa Maravilla will accommodate adults 55 years and over by providing studio, one and two bedroom apartments at affordable monthly rates starting at $350 for a studio and going up to $900 for a spacious 2 bedroom apartment.
Casa Maravilla will also bring exciting opportunities for older adults in the community with the opening of a City of Chicago Department of Family and Support Services Senior Satellite Center on the first floor of the building. The Senior Satellite Center will provide Casa Maravilla tenants and surrounding neighbors 55 years and over with health education, exercise classes, speakers and group field trips. Seniors can also take advantage of the Golden Diners Program, which will be serving hot nutritious meals for adults age 60 and over. The Golden Diners program will provide another opportunity for community members to meet and build relationships with their neighbors.
Another benefit of Casa Maravilla is the close proximity to Alivio Medical Center, the leading local community-based health care organization. Quick and easy access to health care eliminates a major concern of many aging adults.
Also within close proximity east from Casa Maravilla is the El Paseo’s Growing Station Community Garden, giving access to Casa Maravilla’s tenants to plant and harvest herbs, fruits and vegetables just steps away from home.
With so much to offer, Casa Maravilla is an ideal place for older adults to live. To learn more or for a pre-application contact us at (312) 666-1323.
