The Resurrection Project (TRP) Celebrates 25 Years of Building Healthy Communities
(TRP commits to strengthening neighborhoods by doing more in five years than in the last 25)
The Resurrection Project (TRP) invites you to Imagine More at their 25th Anniversary Gala held on October 22, 2015 from 5:30PM to 8:30PM at the Palmer House (17 E. Monroe Street, Chicago, IL.) The gala will feature testimony and commendation from dignitaries including Honorary Chair Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Gala Chair Dalila Wilson-Scott, of JPMorgan Chase Foundation. The festivities will be emceed by Anthony Ponce, of NBC-5 Chicago and the Presenting Sponsor for TRP’s 25th Anniversary Gala is JPMorgan Chase.
The Mayor Rahm Emanuel will give his remarks between 6:30PM – 6:55PM.
In celebration of this milestone, TRP and its supporters have committed to doing more in five years than they’ve done in 25 years. “TRP has an excellent track record of transforming communities through its various strategies, initiatives, and programs,” said Raul Raymundo, TRP’s CEO. “We will leverage our model to transform some of the most troubled neighborhoods into communities of promise and improve the quality of life for families.”
“We are proud to celebrate The Resurrection Project’s contribution to Chicago by building vibrant and healthy communities,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “They are helping stabilize communities by empowering people with the resources they need to succeed.”
“We at JPMorgan Chase congratulate TRP on their 25th Anniversary and look forward to continuing our partnership to create resilient, healthy communities in Chicago,” said Dalila Wilson-Scott, President of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation and TRP’s Gala Chair. “TRP provides innovative, client-centered and highly-effective solutions to challenges facing Chicago and we are proud to support these important efforts.”
The gala event will also bring together more than 700 of Chicago’s civic, business, and community leaders to celebrate TRP’s impact and share its vision for the future. The event will include a cocktail reception, dinner, and performances showcasing community culture.
“The Resurrection Project continues to act on their faith and values to create healthy communities,” said, “Archbishop Blase J. Cupich. “TRP and local parishes are working together tirelessly to create opportunities for families to have the support and resources they need to thrive.”
In the past 25 years, TRP has impacted hundreds of individuals and families through its programs ranging from housing, financial literacy, community leadership, immigration and more. One of those people is Esperanza Villalobos, a community leader, who came to TRP when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was also on the brink of losing her home.
“Thanks to TRP’s ELLAS program, I was able to get the life-saving surgery I needed and their foreclosure prevention program helped me save my home,” said Villalobos. “Since then, I’ve participated in their community leadership training and I’m today impacting the lives of hundreds of my neighbors in different ways.”
“Over the last 25 years, The Resurrection Project has contributed greatly to the city of Chicago by improving the quality of life for individuals and families,” said Governor Bruce Rauner. “Through their innovation and leadership they’ve become a catalyst for creating strong thriving communities.”
“We are excited to challenge ourselves to do more to impact a greater number of people and become a national community development model for other communities,” said Raul Raymundo, TRP’s CEO. “We encourage public, private, and community stakeholders to join us in creating healthier communities by 2020.”
