TRP Youth Complete Peace Mosaic Mural at Throop Park

On July 31st, TRP and WBEZ, with the support of Chicago Cares, hosted a day of service at Throop Park in Pilsen. The purpose of the event was to promote peace, safety, and service.
TRP and volunteers installed a Youth Peace Mosaic Mural at Throop Park, which has historically had issues with crime and gang graffiti along the benches of the basketball courts.
TRP youth created this peace mosaic mural, which illustrates the Chicago skyline and youth silhouettes and the quote “Give Peace a Chance.” The 35-foot mosaic took weeks of preparation and over 40 youth to complete.
