The Resurrection Project offers high-quality immigration legal services aimed at keeping Illinois immigrant families together. 

Our attorneys and DOJ accredited case representatives consult community members on a variety of services, including, but not limited to: citizenship, family petitions, adjustment of status, DACA renewals, U-Visa and VAWA for victims of domestic violence, removal defense, bond hearings, and asylum. 

Services are offered in English and Spanish languages.

How can I make an appointment?

  • Appointments open the first and third Wednesday of every month at 9am. They are filled on a first come, first served basis. 
  • The quickest way to get an appointment is online: https://trplegalservices.as.me/schedule.php  
  • If you do not have an e-mail address, please call us at 312-666-3062 to sign up for an appointment with our intake specialist. We have limited appointments for prospective clients. 

Is Saturday your only available day for a consult.

  • Saturday is the main day designated for initial consultations.  We offer appointments on Thursdays a few times a year. 

Where is your office located?

  • The Immigration Legal Services office is located at 1805 South Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60608.  

What are your office hours?

  • Our business hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00pm. Our office is closed on Monday and Sunday. 

How much do your legal services cost?

  • Most of our services are free if you live in the state of Illinois except for select citizenship services.  

Do you help individuals who live outside of the state of Illinois?

Are you seeing clients in person?

  • Beginning on May 7, 2022, all appointments will be in person.  

Do the attorneys or legal representatives speak Spanish?

  • All of our attorneys and legal representatives are fluent in English and in Spanish.  

If my family member or loved one is detained by ICE, should I make an appointment?

  • If your family member or loved one is detained by ICE, please contact our office at 312-666-3062 so that you can speak to one of our legal staff as soon as possible. You do not need an appointment for this service.  

I am a US Citizen and would like to petition for my fiancé or for a loved one who does not live in the United States. Do you offer this service?

I will be receiving a general immigration consultation. What documents will I need?

  • Documents relating to your immigration status. 
  • Documents relating to any criminal case. 
  • Government issued ID, state ID, passport, green card or employment authorization card. 

I am interested in applying for DACA for the first time. What documents do I need?

  • Daca Initial is currently closed by the federal government. You could sign up for a general consultation and we will conduct a comprehensive screening to determine eligibility for any immigration relief.  

I will be renewing my DACA, what documents do I need?

  • Current and past work permits 
  • a copy of your previously filed DACA application(s) 
  • a copy of your passport, state ID, driver’s license or consular ID 
  • any criminal or traffic records you have had in the U.S. 
  • $495 money order made payable to “Department of Homeland Security 

Does TRP have any funding available to cover the $495 cost of filling for a DACA?

      • DACA scholarships are available for Illinois applicants who earn up to 100% AMI.  See chart below for income limits based on household size.
