1990

The Resurrection Project is Founded

Six Chicago-area parishes establish The Resurrection Project (TRP) to advocate for safer, cleaner, and more inclusive communities in Pilsen

1991

First TRP Property Acquired

Located at 18th St. and Paulina St., TRP purchases St. Vitus and Zócalo Plaza

1991

Street Mass

TRP, a coalition of Pilsen churches, and community members establish the first Pilsen Street Mass

1992

Residents Meet Mayor Daley

TRP organizes approximately 800 community residents to meet with former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley to advocate for affordable housing and neighborhood safety

1993

New Homes for Chicago

TRP builds 100 new homes for 100 families who participated in TRP’s New Homes for Chicago lottery

1995

First Early-Childhood Center

TRP opens the Centro Familiar Guadalupano Family Center

1997

Casa Guerrero

TRP opens two affordable rental housing buildings

1998

Casa Tabasco

TRP opens its first housing development in Little Village

2002

Paulo Freire Family Center

TRP opens its second early childhood education center in Back of the Yards

2009

Casa Morelos

TRP constructs 45 units of affordable housing in Pilsen

2010

20th Anniversary/Major Epansion

TRP secures 72 units of affordable senior housing and funding for La Casa Student Housing and Resource Center in Pilsen

2012

TRP expands breast cancer support group ELLAS

Founded in Pilsen in 2012, ELLAS helps women who are at risk of, currently in treatment for, or surviving breast cancer.

2014

Immigrant Justice

TRP launched its Immigrant Justice department in 2014 to advocate for immigrant rights, provide legal services, and build an equitable ecosystem across Illinois

2015

Casa Querétaro

TRP raises $15 million to construct 45 affordable homes in Pilsen

2016

Casa Hildalgo

TRP Opens New Office in Back of the Yards

2017

CDFI Recognition

TRP is certified by the US Department of Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI)—a mission-driven financial institution dedicated to serving low-income communities.

2018

HOPE Program

TRP expands Domestic Violence program through HOPE. HOPE has been a long-standing domestice violence program through St. Pius Church in Pilsen.

2019

Access to Justice

TRP program receives $10M in funding to expand community based legal services

2022

Colibrí Fellowship

TRP program creates a pathway for attorneys and legal professionals to serve immigrant communities

2023

Casa Durango

TRP opens a two-building development with 53 affordable units in Pilsen

2024

Lincoln Laureate

TRP CEO and co-founder Raul I. Raymundo receives the 2024 Order of Lincoln Award for professional achievement and public service

2024

Shared Equity Investment Program

In partnership with the City of Chicago and Chicago Community Loan Fund, TRP launches a program designed to expand affordable homeownership and build community wealth

Clinton Global Initiative

TRP is selected as a Clinton Global Initiative commitment-maker

Community Health Partnership

In partnership with Community Health, TRP opens a free health clinic

2026

Reclaming Back of the Yards Groundbreaking

TRP celebrates with residents and community leaders for the first newly constructed affordable homes in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, through Reclaiming Chicago.

2026

Casa Nayarit Development at 18th & Peoria

In partnership with the City of Chicago and Chicago Commons, TRP plans to redevelop the vacant 18th St. and Peoria St. site with 76 affordable apartments and new early childhood education center

2026

Colibri Fellowship Expands

Colibrí continues to grow by expanding our support to launch fellowships in Massachusetts and Wisconsin and entering the second year of the program in Oregon.
