I want to live in a TRP property. How do I qualify?
Our affordable housing options have income and household size requirements. Properties are funded through a variety of different programs, which means that we are able to offer housing for individuals and families across the income spectrum. All applicants are screened during a pre-application process. The full application process includes a credit and criminal background report, landlord history checks, and verification of income and assets. Applications are not accepted in person, and must be sent by USPS mail.
How do I apply for housing?
Each property has its own specific application, but the first step is to complete and submit a pre-application. If you qualify for housing, your name will be added to our waiting list. Qualified individuals are contacted as apartments become available. At this time, the applicant is invited to complete and mail in a full application, along with all supporting documents. Once approved, applicants will schedule a move-in date and submit their security deposit and first month’s rent payment.
How does your waiting list work?
To be added to our waiting list, you must first complete our pre-application process. If you qualify for housing, you will be added to our waiting list based on the date and time of your submission. Available apartments are offered to eligible individuals based on where they fall on the waiting list.
What do I need to apply?
All applicants must first submit a pre-application. If you meet all of the pre-application requirements, your full application will be considered. To qualify, applicants must submit the following:
- Proof of Income (check stubs)
- Proof of Public Assistance (DHS letter)
- Notarized Letter from Your Employer
- Social Security Award Letter (SSI)
- Child Support Order (if applicable)
- Other Information (other sources of income)
- Copy of Birth Certificates
- Copy of Social Security Cards or ITIN
- Copy of government issued IDs from all adults in the household
