The Resurrection Project’s Statement on the Dream Act of 2025

CHICAGO, IL – December 4, 2025 – The Resurrection Project (TRP) applauds the bipartisan reintroduction of the Dream Act of 2025 by Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). For more than two decades, the Dream Act has represented a vital pathway to stability for young people brought to the United States as children. Once again, Congress has an opportunity to carry out the will of the American people and advance a long-overdue solution.

“Dreamers” contribute profoundly to the social and economic fabric of this nation. They grow up in our neighborhoods, graduate from our schools, and are a critical part of the workforce that drives local and national economies. Many have pursued higher education, launched careers, started families, purchased homes, and strengthened the communities they call home.

These individuals have stepped forward with courage, shared their immigration status, and demonstrated what it means to contribute, lead, and build. Their continued stability is essential to the nation’s workforce and long-term economic competitiveness. Dreamers are our neighbors—full stop. It is time for them to be treated as such, with the pathways to opportunity and legal protections that entails.

The reintroduction of the Dream Act serves as a renewed beacon of hope. TRP urges members of Congress in both the House and Senate to act swiftly and pass a permanent legislative solution so that Dreamers can continue to learn, work, contribute, and shape the futures they deserve in the only country they have ever known.

TRP joins a broad coalition of national, state, and local organizations in strongly supporting the Dream Act of 2025 and imploring Congress to pass this bill once and for all.
