Housing Development and Preservation
At The Resurrection Project, we believe in investing in our communities. As part of this commitment, we acquire and renovate local properties in order to increase access to new, permanent, and high-quality affordable housing.
Some of our current initiatives include:
The Casa Veracruz Preservation Project will rehab 155 units across 15 buildings in Pilsen, Little Village, and Back of the Yards, all of which are currently managed by The Resurrection Project. This initiative will allow for much-needed structural updates, improving the living conditions for over 500 individuals.
Located in East Pilsen, Casa Durango, will offer 53 one-, two-, and three-bedroom modern family apartment units. Just blocks from the proposed Paseo Trail, tenants will have easy access to public transportation, on-site tenant storage facilities, and other amenities. Community space in the building will be made available to residents.
TRP’s community engagement process is robust: we participate in community planning, attend community forums, engage local leaders, invite neighbors door-to-door and host community meetings to vet our developments.
