Raul Raymundo Statement on 2016 Presidential Race<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now that the primary season is over and the final stretch for the presidential race has begun, it is time to come together and focus on the issues that are critical to the well-being of this country. The Resurrection Project wants to encourage constituents to pay close attention in evaluating the platforms of the Presidential candidates so that their policies are reflective of the values and issues that matter to all families across the country.
\nThe 2016 Presidential election is of particular relevance for all immigrants as the new leadership will play a vital role in addressing the issue of Immigration reform. Existing data indicates that Immigration Reform would be great for the economy as it will produce greater consumer spending, higher tax revenues and economic gains of up to $1.5 trillion over the next ten years. At the Resurrection Project we strive to empower the families we serve in order to create vibrant, healthier and involved communities that contribute to the social and economic fabric of their community. We challenge families to take ownership of their neighborhood and to build wealth through homeownership, education and economic development.
\nImmigrants are reshaping the face of America and the Presidential candidates will need to demonstrate leadership in addressing the policies that are fundamental for our community. We acknowledge Senator Mark Kirk\u2019s recent statement on rejecting his own\u00a0party’s nominee for President\u00a0divisive rhetoric\u00a0and focusing this election on\u00a0\u00abbuilding bridges and tearing down barriers–not building walls.\u00bb \u00a0Now more than ever, the final stretch must focus on the urgent issues affecting our country instead of the rhetoric that divides and opposes inclusiveness and the fundamental principles on which this country was built.<\/p>\n

Ahora que el proceso de las elecciones primarias ha finalizado y el \u00faltimo tramo de la carrera por la presidencia comenz\u00f3, es hora de unirnos y enfocarnos en los temas que son esenciales para el bienestar del pa\u00eds.\u00a0 En El Proyecto Resurrecci\u00f3n, queremos alentar a los votantes a evaluar con cuidado las plataformas de los candidatos presidenciales para asegurarse de que sus pol\u00edticas reflejen los valores y los temas que importan a todas las familias a lo largo del pa\u00eds.
