TRP and community partners will honor <a href=\"https:\/\/resurrectionproject.org\/a-local-youth-transformed-by-rbl-is-helping-his-community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">youth committed to promoting peace<\/a> through the Resurrection Basketball League\u2019s eight-week program. <strong>The free event takes place on Friday, August 28<sup>th<\/sup> at 4PM at the Z\u00f3calo, 1818 South Paulina, Chicago, IL 60608.\u00a0 12<sup>th<\/sup> District Police Commander Kulbida will also be participating in the youth awards ceremony.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-11238 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/resurrectionproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Award_TWO-800x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/resurrectionproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Award_TWO-800x450.jpg 800w, https:\/\/resurrectionproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Award_TWO-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/resurrectionproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Award_TWO.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/>During the event, popular Pilsen artist, Robert Valadez will preview a rendering of a TRP commissioned mural to commemorate TRP\u2019s 25 years of building healthy communities. The work in progress will be installed next year.<br \/>\nThe Pilsen Cluster Mass will close out the event. Pilsen Parishes (St. Ann, St. Pius V, St. Paul, St. Procopious, St. Adalbert, and Providence of God) in partnership with TRP will celebrate its annual street mass led by Bishop Alberto Rojas. After the mass, there will be a youth Mariachi, a live Dj and three Taquizas (All you can eat tacos) for everyone in attendance.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Schedule:<\/strong><br \/>\n4:00PM &#8211; Activities, Games, Food, Music Etc.<br \/>\n5:45PM &#8211; Youth Award Ceremony begins with Welcome and speakers<br \/>\n6:05PM &#8211; Trophies handed out to youth Basketball teams<br \/>\n6:15PM &#8211; Speaker, Raul Raymundo &#8211; CEO The Resurrection Project<br \/>\n6:20PM &#8211; TRP Mural Rendering Unveiled by Robert Valdez<br \/>\n6:30PM &#8211; Pilsen Cluster Mass<br \/>\n7:45PM &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagomariachiproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Mariachi Project<\/a> will sing, Happy B-Day to TRP and there will be cake!<br \/>\n<strong>About Resurrection Basketball League (RBL)<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nRBL is a weekly summer tournament held on different streets in Pilsen that are considered hot spots for violence. The goal is to reclaim these blocks as areas of peace, fun, and safety through basketball and family friendly activities.<br \/>\n<strong>About The Resurrection Project <\/strong><br \/>\nTRP was started in Pilsen by neighbors from six area parishes who raised $30,000 in seed capital that has since been leveraged into $346 million in community investment.
