TRP and the Peace and Education Coalition’s Statement on the Shooting of a 3-Year-Old Girl in Back of the Yards
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, July 26, 2018 — Yesterday afternoon a 3-year-old girl was shot outside of St. Michael Church in Back of the Yards. The violence witnessed is unacceptable and must stop.
Last night, area residents, members of the young girl’s family, law enforcement officials and TRP’s Increase the Peace leaders came together for a candle light march and vigil in support for the young girl.
We pray for her speedy recovery and send our thoughts and prayers to all the victims of gun violence.
We remain committed to promoting peace and building relationships that will help stop the senseless violence in our neighborhood.
