On Monday April 15th The Resurrection Project, World Business Chicago (WBC), Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and Pilsen community members launched Seed Chicago, an exciting collaboration with the crowd-funding website Kickstarter that highlights local projects aimed at creating jobs and economic growth in Chicago’s neighborhoods.

On March 26, volunteers from The Resurrection Project (TRP), along with TRP families and friends, joined more than 500 people, including many children, in a march organized by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) to demand immediate immigration reform.

Some of our newest homes for rent in Back of the Yards. The Resurrection Projected invested $13.8 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2) dollars to acquire 40 foreclosed or vacant properties in Back of the Yards, and rehabilitate them into 75 units of quality, affordable housing.

TRP has also joined anti-violence peace coalitions in an effort to curb violence in our neighborhoods. One of our most successful programs is the Resurrection Basketball League, a summer hoops and soccer tournament that takes place every summer and encourages youth participation.

TRP staff and volunteers went to city hall to drop off thousands of signed petitions asking President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney to address the foreclosure crisis as part of their presidency.
